Welcome! Farsi Shad hosts online classes to teach children ages 5 and up about Persian culture by celebrating the language of Farsi. Students learn how to read, write and speak Farsi at their own pace in a fun environment.  We provide daily classes, Monday through Saturday, offering the flexibility to attend at your convenience. Please call or email us with inquires if you are interested in enrolling your child.

Farsi Shad treats students as individuals. Through Google Classroom, students can access course materials and communicate with teachers and peers in an organized online environment. Our curriculum employs the same phonetic method used to teach English in schools, making it more accommodating and less overwhelming. In addition to Iranian students, Farsi Shad has also attracted many non-Iranian students interested in learning a third language. Non-Iranian students, in particular, find it easier to pick up languages through familiar teaching methods.

One of the most enjoyable elements of our classes for many kids is understanding modern visualizations of Iran as a means to create cultural connections.  Identifying their origins geographically is the first step toward fostering a sense of curiosity about their past. In many cases, some do not know where Iran is on the map, while they hear other students in the class speak about their summer vacations to Tabriz and Shiraz. The diversity in travel experience within our community adds to the breadth of knowledge we possess as a group.

Our greatest success has been being able to reconnect families to their origins. Understanding the culture and speaking the language give students the opportunity to travel to Iran to explore, engage in community service, and become ambassadors of cultural exchange.
